Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!

I ran across a video of Mr. Carroll's lecture at UW and wanted to comment. I found the lecture quite intersting and was blown away by the capabilities of science in its ability to study and decipher DNA. But while I enjoyed the science, I was put off by Mr. Carroll's attempts at the theological and political. It seemed evident from the video that he is an atheist. Therefore him talking about something being "bad theology" seemed pretty weak. If he wants to try to converse with more theologically oriented people, he should really try to at least understand their point of view rather than just giving an asinine example, chuckling and moving on. As for the political, I'm not sure what he finds so miraculous about Mr. Obama's election. If it's the fact that he was the first "black" president, I'm disappointed that such a learned scientitst would look through such a shallow lens as race to proclaim "a miracle". If instead Mr. Carroll was excited about Mr. Obama's politics, I hope he is rethinking that enthusiasm. Someone who embraces "survival of the fittest" should scarcely support Mr. Obama's quasi-socialist agenda.
In short, Mr. Carroll, please stick to what you excel at - the science - and leave the politics and theology to politicians and theologions.
I love your style of posting, very interesting. not give up and to travel further, so I simply read the value looked happy to several of his articles, a good
